It calms the environment and your mind, cleansing the space for inner and outer journeys. Cedarwood is used whenever calm and composure are required. It is said to aid in re3liveing nervous tension, anxiety, insomnia, fighting depression and aggression. It is said to improve blood circulation and arthritis and enhance concentration.
Lough Tay
Lough Tay in all its glory is the most iconic setting in Wicklow, sights of valleys and mountainous landscape surround the lake districts with vast forest and wildlife, the perfect setting for our luxury hand-rolled cedarwood incense.
Cedarwood
In ancient Mesopotamia, the cedar tree was considered to be a symbol of love. It is believed they were some of the first people to burn cedarwood strictly for its aromatic properties. They also burned it in honour of their ancestors. In the epic of Gilgamesh, Noah burned cedarwood and myrtle to show gratitude to the heavens for sparing his life after the flood.
Cedarwood was also used by the Egyptians for fumigation and embalming purposes, Cedarwood does not grow naturally in Egypt so this import was more valuable than gold to them.
